SHANGHAI (Oct 8): Shanghai Fosun Long March medical Science Co, Ltd (Shanghai Fosun) PCR reagent received emergency use approval and increased supply to Malaysia through authorised distributor Tri-G Technologies, a subsidiary of Nexgram Holdings Bhd, in view of Malaysia rising cases nationwide including more cases in Sabah, Selangor, Negeri Sembilan and Pulau Pinang.
Shanghai Fosun have since May 6 2020 appointed Nexgram Industries Sdn Bhd as the authorised distributor of 2019-Novel Coronavirus (2019-nCoV) RT-PCR Reagent detection kit in Malaysia and Indonesia, dedicated Nexgram Industries to register the product with Medical Device Authority (MDA) Malaysia.
The company’s China sister company Shanghai Fosun Pharmaceutical Group is conducting an experimental antibody treatment for COVID-19 being developed by its unit had been approved for human testing in the United States. Such antibody treatments could be used as a therapeutic bridge until vaccines become widely available.
Shanghai Fosun is a company principally engaged in biomedicine technology, while TRI-G is the licensed medical device distributor in Malaysia in collaboration with a network of more than 5,000 medical providers nationwide.
TRI-G is a licensed medical device distributor and had obtained Malaysia master authorisation to distribute Novel Coronavirus (2019-nCoV) IgM/IgG Rapid Test Kit, and Novel Coronavirus (2019-nCoV) RT-qPCR Detection and Diagnostic Kit. TRI-G is currently already distributing Malaysia Medical Device Authority (MDA) special access approved Novel Coronavirus (2019-nCoV) IgM/IgG Rapid Test Kit to medical centres right after 18 March 2020 the start of movement control order (MCO).
